31 Days of Halloween 2012 - Day 8: Kids Cuff Bracelet from Sock

Instead of wasting the entire foot section of the socks from yesterday's project, I decided to make a little cuff bracelet for my daughter.  It was super easy.  Here's the sock I started with:

And what I cut off to make the legwarmers:

All I did from this point on was cut off the toe and heel from the foot section so I was left with basically a tube of fabric.  I then cut off a section that was the width I wanted and zigzag stitched the raw edges.  This picture is horrible, but it shows how it gives the edge a frilly look:

Then I put it on my daughter's wrist to see how tight it needed to be, cut and stitched at that point on the inside with right sides together, then flipped it right side out.  And that's all there was to it.  You can wear it with the stitched side up for a Frankenstein-esque look, or with the top portion showing as in the title picture above.  The choice is up to you :D  You can probably get 4 or 5 bracelets just out of the foot sections of one pair of socks, so you could make a bunch and give them to her friends, or make one for yourself.

Go have fun!

***I fully recognize that any amount of intelligence or creativity I have is a gift from God.  What I have been freely given, I freely give.  But if you choose to use these tutorials to sell items from, I would ask that you consider joining the Let Justice Flow Initiative, where you commit to donating either 10% of the total purchase price of each item, or designate a specific item for sale where the entire purchase price is donated to an organization that helps fight injustices around the world.  There are specific groups listed to give you an idea on the LJF page.  And feel free to snag the LJF button and put it on your page or etsy site.  Thanks!!***
